A father´s legacy
Internationally renown industrial designer Tias Eckhoff received an award in design for his original kettle back in 1964. However, his product ended up only being produced for a few years. His kettle is now being brought back to life in a refined version through a collaboration between Tias’ daughter, Sigrid Eckhoff and coffee professional Ola Brattås.
SHARING THE PASSION FOR GOOD TASTE
Ola Brattås had many ideas on how to make sure the redesigned kettle could be improved to brew the perfect cup of coffee while still being easy to use. Sigrid Eckhoff, who herself is a renowned Norwegian industrial designer, faced the delicate task of trying to enhance her father’s original work and incorporating Ola’s ideas without changing the clean and iconic look of the kettle. With her father’s blessing, together they took on the challenge.
